What is the Feed in Tariff for A.C.T and N.S.W
The Feed in Tariff for A.C.T residents has now reduced to a 1 for 1 Scheme.
This means you will sell back the electricity you generate for about 17c per kWh which is the same as what you are paying for in your electricity bills.
In N.S.W the Feed in Tariff isn’t subsidised by the Government anymore, reducing it to around 8c per kWh for the electricity you generate and feed back into the grid.
What does this Reduction in Government rebates and Feed in Tariffs mean to me?
Luckily for new customers the price of solar panel systems has nearly halved over the past 3 years.
This means it is still now more affordable than ever to get your system installed.
A system that used to cost $22,000.00 to install with government rebates of $7,000 would have been $15,000.00 (with the RECs and solar credits calculation deductions).
With the current price reduction of materials the same system will cost $14.000 to install. The current Government rebates of $3,100.00 (with REC’s calculated), will bring the final cost down to $9,000.00.
